Trend: The trend lies in the fierce competition within marketplaces, as seen on Amazon, with estimated 9.7 million sellers. Simply listing products and waiting for orders is just not enough. About 3,700 new sellers join, websites like Amazon every day to list their products. To achieve volume at sales, making the most of various promotional tools is essential. Besides that, the current trend of increasing importance of the influencer marketing remains stable.
Investors' Bets: The Seattle-based startup Levanta has announced a $1 million seed funding round to assist Amazon sellers in developing partnership agreements with authors and influencers.
Founded last year, Levanta provides Amazon sellers with the means to create their own affiliate programs, hire authors, generate revenue reports, and make affiliate commission payments. The marketplace has around 2,000 creators and over 500 brands are involved.
The company, which comprises 8 individuals, was launched in March and has surpassed $1 million in annual recurring revenue this fall, already generating a profit.
To-Do: Consider building a similar product as there are so many growing marketplaces, creators, and affiliate agencies on the market.
